- 2013 -

Welcome to Smart in Design, led by Graphic Designer Susan Nunn. Susan created her award winning business ‘Smart in Design’ in 2013 on the Isle of Wight, UK. She started to help businesses who, like herself, were just starting out and she has watched them grow over the years. “It’s a very satisfying feeling watching from afar, to see businesses thrive, and building long lasting relationships with my clients”. Susan has a passion for creative arts and before Smart in Design was born she spent many years working in promotions and marketing within the music industry.

2014

After 3 years of studying, Susan graduated from The University of Chichester with a distinction FdA degree in graphic design. She also worked part-time as a freelance graphic designer and artworker for a local Island printers, this gave her a valuable insight into the modern world of printing on both digital and litho print machines. Susan started to pick up clients within the music industry, and so made marketing materials for festivals and music nights.

2015

Smart in Design received a ‘Highly Commended’ Award from the IW Chamber of Commerce for best ‘New Business’. Susan started to gain more clients and credibility, whilst still providing the same level of service. Susan started working with Lucy Choi London, a shoe designer niece of Jimmy Choo. She designed her ecommerce website LUCY CHOI LONDON with a local web developer, her website serves worldwide clients and the business is ever growing. “Lucy and team are a joy to work with, we keep their site top ranking with seo and regular maintenance on a monthly retainer; we update the design periodically which is always fun”. Susan was nominated in 2015 to receive a Venus Award for her dedication to Customer Services.

2016/18

Susan then went onto become a Venus Awards finalist in 2016, the awards evening was held at the Cowes Yacht Haven. Susan started to work with clients of all sectors such as; accountancy; restaurants; children’s play centre; games maker; plastering; photography; plumbing; estate agents; recruitment agency; cleaning company and solicitors to name a few. Susan has also worked with local charities by giving up her time to support the local community with promotional posters, flyers and helping out at events. These included help to feed the homeless and enriching disabled children’s lives, along with charity Ambassador Mark King (Level 42).

2019/20

Susan moved to Western Australia and set up a work from home office, whilst still continuing to run her UK business. She is looking to help businesses and start ups with graphic design services. Susan says “Opening a 2nd office the other side of the world has certainly come with its challenges, but I am very excited about the future of Smart in Design and couldn’t be more thrilled.’

Smart in Design offers business owners a friendly, affordable service to promote your list of services, whether that’s business cards, a price list, correspondence, a website, marketing materials, promotional items, event graphics and much more. Susan will meet with you to discuss your ideas, draft up quality designs and present them to you for approval. Final artwork is then produced and sent to print if required, whilst focusing on meeting your deadlines.
